Recreating the First Dungeon from the Legend of Zelda and Making a New Level

Recently, a group partner and I recreated the first dungeon from the first Legend of Zelda game on the NES and implemented a new mechanic. This project was part of the EECS 494 Video Game Development Major Design Experience course at the University of Michigan.

This game was built in Unity and C#. Sprites were edited using GIMP.

In terms of my personal contributions to the project, I:

  • Implemented most of the enemy logic
  • Edited and created new sprites where needed
  • Implemented collectables and designed item drops
  • Planned general layout of custom dungeon
  • Worked on initial MVP of Cosmic Link
  • etc.
